In the spring of 2010, my partner and I decided to adaopt a cat. We had heard great things about EPSVA so we visited the website and filled out an application. On that Saturday we went to PETCO to meet the volunteers and see the cats up for adoption. By the time my partner had answered a few questions regarding the application, I had already met "my cat" Joey.
On May 1st we had the honor of adopting Joey and bringing him home. Joey has been a godsend. In August of 2010 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Joey has been the greatest source of comfort and love through the diagnosis, surgeries and recovery. It saddens me to think of his past of being abandoned and left to fend for himself outside. You would never know that he went through that thanks to the love and care he received from the fostering of volunteers. Thanks to EPSVA for taking care of Joey for me till he found his new home! ~ Lynne
